Wake me cause I'm dreaming...Spy Hunter Commercial

Have you ever been sleeping and you swear your dreaming and something wakes you up and its not a dream? Well I fell asleep on the couch around 8pm and at around 2am I thought I was dreaming when I hear the music for my second most favorite arcade game and the second arcade machine that I purchased for my basement, Spy Hunter. But why would I be hearing this music right now? 80's Pop Culture strikes again, Pontiac decided to throw it their new commercial. I guess I'll be on my Spy Hunter kick and fire up my machine and run it for the next few days.

Undrcrwn vs. Ubiq Party

Seems like I've been going out alot these days but this past Thursday was definitly a good reason to be out and about. Not only was it the first day of spring but I had the honor of spinning the Undrcrwn vs Ubiq March Madness party along with my cousin DJ Cash Money and Deuce. For those that don't know about Undercrwn their a street wear brand that thats heavily influenced by college hoops and Ubiq is the place to cop the fresh kicks. The event was sponsored by EA Sports (NCAA 2008), Skullcandy, Two One Five Magazine and Mountain Dew. These guys went all out with the decorating of the store, all the merchandise was removed and Undrcrwn set up shop to look like a college with display cases full of trophies, memorabilia, merch and more. EA Sports had two setups both equipped with flat screens, playstation 3 and xbox360 all with NCAA 2008 ready to go. Upstairs had the bar and the DJ set up and mobs off people getting sweaty. And of course special guests like Mos Def always seem to show up unexpectedly.

Frida Kahlo

"Yes, I do other things besides the typical shit"!

So after a Friday and Saturday night of hanging out drinking and socializing I decided to sleep a little late Sunday morning then spend the afternoon with a couple of beautiful lady friends and heading over to the Philadelphia Art Museum and checking out the Frida Kahlo exhibit. This exhibit is a definite recommendation to any fan or just an appreciator of some good art. Frida's work is really personal and reflects her life, her self portraits are amazing but her later works during the rough times in her life are on another level!

Highly Recommended!

Vintage Train Graff

Just like Nike or any other sneaker manufacturer produces a retro or re-issues of popular and iconic products, this graffiti project was designed to replicate iconic train graffiti of the past with some impressive viewing coming out of the product.
Good to see train bombing still going on in other parts of the world.

Top Burger spots! (update)

So if you've been reading my blog you'll know that Ynot and myself have been traveling the world to find the best burger spots and documenting our finds. I recently went on a quick vacation to Miami and stopped at a dope spot on Southbeach called Primetime...."Official"! Quality beef, proper seasoning and prepared medium well. Damn, now thats a tasty burger!

Spreadin' Knowledge

So yesterday I had the pleasure of doing a lecture at one of the best Ivey League colleges, Cornell University in upstate New York with my Rock Steady Crew family Crazy Legs, Ynot and Bonita. Now this wasn't just a class with some professor who claims to know about Hip Hop but a Q & A with people who actually live this culture. I was very surpised at the level of knowledge that some people already possessed about people like legendary graff artits Dondi and others involved. What was also a surprise was that no one mentioned any of these "now so-called Hip Hop artists" which lets me know that this culture still has a pulse and people are still interested in it! The lecture wasn't just about the music but also the environment in which it came from and how it evolved. Definitly a good experience on both sides of the fence with the Q & A, more colleges need to involve "qualified" people who are involved in Hip Hop and not just some professor who claims to know about it.

"Hot Peas And Butta" baby!

Aight so it's official, the legendary DJ Cash Money and myself are doing another "Hot Peas And Butta" party!! Strictly funky 45's spun, and crazy rare video footage being shown! Shouts to Bobbito Garcia aka Kool Bob Love, DJ Eclipse, Marco Polo (one of the illest producers on the scene), Rich Medina and everyone else that came thru to the last one. So if you missed the last throwdown you know not to miss this one!
