Burger Questing

Still on my quest to have the best burgers in the world, no matter the city, state or country I'm still searching!  Last week while enjoying a beautiful afternoon in Amsterdam, the homie Jurskee and myself decided to stop at a local spot which I had never been to before for a few beers and a burger.  I've got to say that everything about it was great, the quality of beef and seasoning of the burger I would have to give it an 8/10. The bun was correct and the fries were hot and crispy with no condiments needed!

This was an outdoor shot so I couldn't get a great picture but you get the point.

Mile High Soul Club

I'll be DJ'ing this Saturday night at Mile High Soul Club in Denver, Colorado.  Mile High Soul Club is a party that takes place every month at Beauty Bar and plays Northern Soul, Funk and RnB to an audience that loves to dance and sweat.  It's been a minute since I've been trying to make this trip happen so I'm definitely packing the special crates for this night out!

Dust & Grooves Book Release Recap

I wish I could've made it out to the Dust & Grooves - Adventures in Record Collecting book release event on Record Store Day in Brooklyn but still honored that I made it in the pages of the book with amazing photos by Eilon Paz.  Can't wait until I get off the road and back home so that I can finally go through the book page by page and check out my fellow collectors and their spreads.  Here's a recap from the book launch which took place on April 19th.

It's always great to add new pieces of art to the collection.

Zavino Wino Bar

This past weekend was my first weekend off to enjoy life in about a month so it was a great opportunity to get out the house, check out the flea markets, and of course enjoy great food.  Stopped by Zavino Wine Bar to check out what was on the menu and decided to order up a few things.  The pork stuffed ravioli, grilled shrimp with white beans and a nice cheese, olive and meat plate with great hams, prosciutto and bread.  It was definitely nice to sit out doors people watching while snacking and enjoying lunch.

Sunday Burger Quest

Yesterday while in NYC The Elroy Jenkins and myself stopped by Corner Bistro to grab a burger and a few beers.  This was my first time eating there but have heard plenty of good things about it.  Most people know that I'm on my burger quest to have the best beef on a bun in not only all 50 states but across the globe.  The Corner Bistro served up one of the best burgers that I've had in a long time! It's a burger, bacon, lettuce, tomato and cheese served on a plastic plate, that's all! No gourmet fixings or extras to cover up the true taste of the beef.  The beef quality was on point and prepared medium well to my satisfaction.

While there enjoy a few beers along with our burgers, the bartender comes out of the back with a bag of records which naturally sparked our curiosity and conversation.  After a little questioning what was in the bag, he told us that it was a few records that he loaned a friend which contained samples used by Jay Z, Dilla, Doom, DJ Premier and other artists and producers.  Only in New York does this happen!

Skeme Richards in Japan's Groove Magazine

Last December while in Japan, I was interviewed by Groove Magazine which is Japan's #1 (and quite possibly the worlds best DJ magazine).  The interview is part of a series about DJ's and their collections but also about my history, records, being a member of Rock Steady Crew and of course, Hot Peas & Butta.  The interview recently went up on their site for the world to read.  Here's the link as well as a few pics from the interview.
