This Saturday night I'll be playing Hip Drop in Osaka which happens to be the last date on my Japan tour.  Looking forward to catching up with my friends and fam before heading back to the states.

I had the pleasure of going to hear DJ Muro last night as he spun a special birthday set at Ucess The Lounge in Harajuku.  Amazing set as expected and always a pleasure to meet up with him when visiting Tokyo.

Ramen, Anytime.

When is the perfect time time for ramen you ask?  Well anytime is the perfect if you ask me especially if it's 730am on a winter morning in Osaka Japan where the temperature is 20 degrees and you're walking with your record bag and your favorite ramen closed at 7am.  That's pretty much what happened when leaving the club recently only to find that you've missed your window of opportunity to eat at your favorite Osaka ramen spot and have to instead stand outside in the freezing cold to get your fix.  

This was my first time trying this spot but to be quite honest, standing in the cold eating a hot bowl or ramen isn't as bad as I thought.  It's the perfect compliment to the extreme winds blowing at your back while being exhausted from a long night of DJ'ing.

Burger Heaven

As always, I'm still on my burger quest and searching for the best in every city, state and country that I visit.  One of the best in 2014 was one that was recommended by fellow DJs in Fukuoka Japan who knew about my mission.  So the following day after my gig and before catching my flight back to Tokyo they took me to Hungry Heaven which is a small shop that specializes in what else, burgers of course.  Everything about the burger was proper from the bun to the bacon, the beef down to the tomatoes.  The quality of the beef was just what I would expect from such a place that uses fresh and quality ingredients.  Top it off with a side of fries and of course a vanilla shake and we're in business.

Hot Peas & Butta x WahWah in Osaka Recap

Had great time last month during my Japan tour with one of the stops being the Hot Peas & Butta meets WahWah party in Osaka.  Always an honor to share the decks with a great lineup of DJs for a packed house of people that love to dance.

Kaiju Sakaba

One of the must do highlights for me during my recent Japan tour was to go to and eat at Kaiju Sakaba which is an Ultraman themed restaurant.  Words, pictures nor video can properly explain this place and the only way to get the full experience is to go for yourself (which might be difficult to do since the restaurant was only scheduled to be opened for 1 year and closes in the next month or two). The restaurants entire decor is of course Ultraman / Kaiju themed from the booths to the display cases, the monitors showing episodes of Ultraman and even the food and drink menu are Kaiju specialties. There is even a souvenir shop to purchase figures, plates and other collectibles.

Because of the dim lighting it was rather difficult to get good pictures but like I said, it's a place that you need to experience first hand to get the full experience.

Taipei Taiwan's Night Life

Had a great time in Taipei Taiwan for a couple of events that I was DJ'ing and of course in between got to see a bit of the city, it's culture and of course food!  This was my first time to Taipei and hopefully won't be my last time visiting because there was so much that I didn't get to see in my 3 days there.  Thank you to the promoters and great people that took care of me during my visit.  See you again soon!

Taipei's night life is all hustle and bustle until the morning hours.

Vibeout

Closing out my Japan tour this Sunday will find me back where it all began and the foundation of my beginnings as Hip Hop DJ spinning breaks for the Bboys and Bgirls of Tokyo at the Vibeout with the homie DJ Kogataroo. This will be my last gig of the tour and I'll be finishing my set that evening and heading right to the airport for the long flight back to the states.

Metrockride @ Family

Saturday night I'll be rocking a set at Club Family for Metrockride.  I had the pleasure of spinning this party / showcase last year so it's an honor to be invited back this year.

Spinoff

This Thursday night begins the final week of my 2014 Japan tour and the first night will be at Spinoff at Ucess Lounge and I'll be doing an exclusive Hip Hop 45 set.  I usually prefer my Hip Hop on 12" because well... that's the way it should be in my opinion but I'm up for the task.  Old to the new from some of my favorite artists of yesterday and today.

Hot Peas & Butta meets WahWah in Osaka.

This Saturday night the first of two collaborations goes down in Osaka as Hot Peas & Butta meets Tokyo's WahWah party.  There's a lot of heavy records between these two parties and it makes it's way to Osaka for this special occasion!
