Here is an interview that I recently did with those Art, Music, Fashion and Culture ladies over at Dapper Dames (www.dapperdamesonline.com) about the art and science behind the reworking of the Red Dead Redemption Soundtrack being released on Wax Poetics. Give it a read to find out what's behind this madman.
Something new for your listening(and viewing)pleasure!
Hot Peas and Butta has "unofficially" received a copy of the new Red Dead Redemption Soundtrack being released on Wax Poetics Records. After giving the soundtrack a good listen and with a lot of thought I decided to get into cinema mode and give it the Hot Peas and Butta treatment. What started out as a simple musical score has now been reworked into a new cinematic vision of more than just a score, but dialog as well.
Cant front, I really love iconic advertising characters which seems like not many companies are using today but Supreme has teamed up with Rustoleum for a nice little colabo.
Damn it seems like ages since I've actually done and event in the states, everything has been Europe and Asia as of late so I'm excited to be hitting Houston TX this weekend for Break Free 2010. Houston has two things ill Bboys and some of the best BBQ in the world!!
This past weekend in London was great! Got to be apart of the UK Champs 15 year anniversary which was sponsored by Sony Erricson, New Era and Asics at London's Brixton Academy, rocked a party at the New Era store in Soho with Crazy Legs (Rock Steady Crew), spin a party with my peoples Kon & Amir, Spin Doctor and Shortee Blitz, and finally rock a closing party once again sharing turntable duties as well as mic duties with Crazy Legs at my favorite spot, Plan B.
A few party rockin pics from my recent trip to the town of Heerlen in the Netherlands. This was a great weekend to celebrate the IBE 10yr Anniversary event as well as rocking a few parties in between. These pics are from one of the parties that I spun and also on mic control duties while my man DJ Hooch (Armory Massive / Funkin Pussy) rocked the 1's and 2's. It's always a good time when Hooch and myself get together to rock the crowd.
Gotta try new Beers.
Everybody say Hell Yeah!! What goes down when I'm on the mic!
Here's a few pics from the Absolut Brooklyn launch party in Philly with Rock Steady Crew family Tony Touch, Crazy Legs and myself. This was a great night with some really great limited edition giveaways, if you missed out on the goodies then I feel sorry for ya!
While walking downtown last week on the way to getting pages added to my passport I walked pass a school that I had been seeing in the Yellow Pages since I was a kid. Just like every kid in the 70's you wanted to go to a Kung Fu or Karate school, so I used to look in the phone book and pick which ones I wanted to attend. I also used to cut out the pictures from the ads because they were so dope. Here's a school that I had been seeing for years and really wanted to attend when I was young. The name is just so fly!
Man it's been a minute since I've updated the blog due to all the traveling that I've been doing. You would think that with the lack of sleep that I've been getting that I would have done it but thats a no go!
If you didn't know I recently celebrated my birthday but it wasn't just any birthday, it was celebrated in Thun Switzerland with all my good friends. I had the opportunity to rock the Top Rock City party there which was just as amazing and being on top of the Alps overlooking the country.
Shouts to everyone that made my birthday extra special!
