Hot Peas & Butta 5 Year Anniversary

This Friday night we celebrate the Hot Peas & Butta 5 year anniversary in Seattle Washington with our homies from DUG and Butta Bros Supreme La Rock, Kamui Sumida, King Otto and myself.  We've got rooms for you to enjoy Funk & Soul 45's being played while your drink, dance and socialize.  Plus, we've got some great giveaways from our sponsors, 45's and sticker packs from G.E.D. Battle of The Year

Last week I had the honor of hosting the Battle of The Year 1v1's in Braunschweig Germany as well as hosting the Q&A with one of the stars of the BOTY 3D movie which just released in theaters.  Here's a recap of the solo's from some of the best B-boys in the world.

Coffee Table Status

Great new book being released from one of my favorite artists, Roy Lichtenstein which showcases him in a way rarely seen.  Roy Lichtenstein: Sculptor is a selection of the artists sculptures from 1968 to the end of his life, covering his sculptural oeuvre in ceramic, bronze, wood, porcelain, steel and aluminum as well as drawings, collages and maquettes that describe his work processes.

Tel Aviv Rockin'

Finally getting around to putting up pics from The Hop party in Tel Aviv with the homies Dase Boogie, Soul Supreme and DJ Mesh.  The night  was strictly an all vinyl affair of Funk, Soul, Breaks and Hip Hop to an amazingly open minded crowd.

Battle of The Year

This weekend I'll be in Braunschweig Germany for Battle of The Year.  On the heavy agenda and list of things that I've been "assigned" to doing is teaching a DJ workshop, hosting the 1vs1's, moderating a Q&A with select cast members of the new Battle of They Year movie and then hosting the premier screening of the film itself.  DJ duties will include not only the battles with my partner on the decks, DJ Renegade but also rocking the after party as well.

NYCC Comic Con Recap

Looks like things went really well at the Kodoja x Hot Peas & Butta booth this weekend at New York Comic Con 2013.  We completely sold out of the new issue #4 of Kodoja: Terror Mountain Showdown which I'm extremely happy about.  Thank you to everyone that stopped thru to chop it up with Rory Smith and Elroy Jenkins.  And to thank you to those two shady characters (Christian and Brooks Jones) that hijacked the booth while the guys strolled the convention floor.  Extra big shouts to the homie King Cope 2 who signed Christian's Kodoja comic cover with his signature bubble throw up, definitely frame worthy.

Wild Style 30th Anniversary DVD

Tomorrow is the official date for the release of the Wild Style 30th Anniversary 2 DVD set with 2hrs of additional bonus footage, remastered and more.

KAWS Exhibition at PAFA

It's great to see that the KAWS exhibition is finally making it's way to Philly and displayed at PAFA.  I've been a fan of KAWS since his early writing days and it's always great to see the progression of someone with so much talent.
