Eddie Bo (1930-2009)

More and more of the greats keep passing away.

Singer-pianist Edwin Joseph Bocage, known to fans and those in the New Orleans music industry simply as Eddie Bo, died Wednesday of a heart attack. He was 79. Bocage's death was confirmed yesterday by his close friend and booking agent, Karen Hamilton.

Hamilton said Bocage had a "sudden, massive heart attack" while out of town Wednesday.

Hot Peas and Butta art

Alot of people have been asking how they can get a poster flyer for the Hot Peas and Butta party and I always tell them the same thing, you gotta grab one at the party or catch one posted up somewhere. Well last week in New York my man, Lancealot who designs all of the Hot Peas Flyers did a 1 of 1 large framed 1/2 sheet movie sized poster for a gallery exhibit that he was involved with. The poster was up for sale and of course its been sold. Lance always puts in mad work when designing these flyers to give it a true blaxploitation feel.

Bout to make a West Coast swing in April to some of my favorite parties on that side, I'll be doing 3 dates between L.A. and San Diego. Soul Sauce is one of those parties that you can really get loose musically, Charlie Rock spins all dopest Hip Hop, Neo Soul, Classics and more.

Up in the Bronx where the people are fresh.....

While I was out in Atlanta this past weekend rockin parties, my fam and fellow "Kings Destroy" member Teknyc was up in the Bronx gettin' loose!

Cope 2 Mix

A few months back I spun legendary NYC graff writer Cope 2's 40th birthday party / gallery showing @ Alphabeta in Brooklyn. I did a cd to commemorate this special occassion for the event and now Im putting it up here for the rest of the world. Each song was picked because I feel that it represented Cope 2 and how he reps the culture.
