Soul Flexin' x Hot Peas and Butta

In a few weeks I'll be flying out to San Diego to DJ for a very special event, the Soul Flexin' 1 Year Anniversary to be exact. The homie Charlie Rock asked if I would be down to celebrate with them and of course I jumped at the opportunity.

To help celebrate Hot Peas and Butta's own The Elroy Jenkins did a limited edition t shirt just for the occasion. Since this month's flyer theme is Jim Kelly it's only right that he got busy with the art and turned out something sweet.

Rock Ya Soul

While out in the Netherlands next week Djing for the World Bboy Classics event I'll also (finally) be spinning the Rock Ya Soul Party. Been looking forward to this for a while now. Rock Ya Soul is one of those parties that you can really get loose with the funk, soul and rare grooves so you know how it's going down right?!

Coffee Table Status (Star Wars: Blueprints)

Been dreaming of hiring a celestial crew to build your very own fully armed and operational battle station? You're going to need this. Star Wars: The Blueprints ($500) brings together for the first time more than 500 photographs and illustrations that show how the Star Wars galaxy was designed, from R2-D2 and the Cantina to the Millennium Falcon and the Death Star, accompanied by commentary by J. W. Rinzler and many of the original draftsmen who worked on the designs themselves. More than a simple book, this deluxe 15" x 18" tome weighs in at 35 pounds, and is limited to just 5,000 English-language copies, each of which will be hand-numbered. Technically, it's sorta like owning the MacGuffin from Episode IV.

Great, just one more thing on the list of things that I want (need) to buy.

Seoul Recap

Finally back from my recent trip to Seoul Korea and as always I had a great time. The organizers of R16 have really stepped it up to the next level with the event and it was an honor to be involved again this year. While out there it was great to link up with a few of my friends that I haven't seen since my last trip to Seoul which was last September. Here's a few pics.

First order of business once I land is one of my favorite burger spots in Seoul, Kraze!

The R16 Press Conference was like going to a boxing press conf.

As the 40th Anniversary of Shaft! comes to a close I've pulled together this collage of some rare pieces from my collection including posters, figures and magazines showcasing some memorabilia from the Shaft era.
