The Story of The 808

I remember back in the mid 80's going to Funk O Mart here in Philly and buying my first (and only) Roland TR-808 drum machine because I had seen one of the older guys in the neighborhood with one.  That machine (along with the 909) is what defined not only Hip Hop during that time, but also dance music in general.  Great to see a full documentary being done on this timeless classic and highly collectible machine.

Hot Peas & Butta x Freestyle Session Afterparty!

Hot Peas & Butta goodness makes it's return to the West Coast and this time we'll be collaborating with Freestyle Session as their official afterparty!  We've got an incredible line up consisting of my San Diego Butta Bros, Marsellus Wallace and Question, special guests flying all the way in from Japan, Kogataroo and DJ Koco aka Shimokita.  Heavy Funk, Soul, and Hip Hop 45 action and of course those rare Hot Peas & Butta visuals will be in full effect.

The Jam Session

Heading back to Stuttgart Germany next month for a night at The Jam Session.  Spinning Funk, Breaks and beats for you to get loose to!

4 Hours of Funk

Next Friday,  the 24th I'm making my way to Baltimore to spin a Funk, Boogie, Disco set at 4 Hours of Funk.  I've heard some great things about this party so I'm definitely looking forward to adding on to the previous list of great DJ's.

Street Style Lab NYC

This Saturday night I'm back in NYC and spinning a set at Street Style Lab after party.
