Live From Greenville Studios #6

It's been a long overdue visit to make an appearance on DJ Prestige's Live From Greenville Studios radio show but this past weekend it finally happened and at the perfect time.  While a good friend from Japan Soki Kimura, drummer for Osaka Monaurail was in town visiting me for a few days I thought this would be a great time to pay a visit to the Greenville, do a bit of digging and enjoy a local burger.  Little did either of us know that heavy snow fall would eventually hit but that didn't stop us from making the run.  What transpired was an afternoon of music, chat and more music.

Ramen, Anytime.

When is the perfect time time for ramen you ask?  Well anytime is the perfect if you ask me especially if it's 730am on a winter morning in Osaka Japan where the temperature is 20 degrees and you're walking with your record bag and your favorite ramen closed at 7am.  That's pretty much what happened when leaving the club recently only to find that you've missed your window of opportunity to eat at your favorite Osaka ramen spot and have to instead stand outside in the freezing cold to get your fix.  

This was my first time trying this spot but to be quite honest, standing in the cold eating a hot bowl or ramen isn't as bad as I thought.  It's the perfect compliment to the extreme winds blowing at your back while being exhausted from a long night of DJ'ing.

Soul City Recap

Had a great time a few weeks back DJ'ing at Soul City in Tilburg, the Netherlands.  It was my first time visiting the town I realized just how different it was from other cities in the Netherlands that I had been to but also equally amazing.  I found out a lot of history about the city and it's definitely on my to do list of going back and checking out the city, museums and other things they have to offer.

Anyway, Soul City was an incredible party with a great crowd of people you and older all enjoying the classic sounds coming out of the speakers.  From Disco and Boogie, to the Soul stylings of Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder to James Brown and more.
