Ape Shit!
Sometimes I see things going on in the industry that I have no control over but makes me wanna go ape shit! Politics and bullshit, cliques and groups that try to hoard a scene up because their scared to let other people in for it they do they would now get over shadowed by real talent and not just a popular name. I don't get as mad as I used to about people abusing technology to become DJ's, producers, photographers and other fashionable things to do these day that they never would have been involved in without these mediums. Hollywood has become garbage with all these remakes and not enough original scripts, music seems to be back and forth with the occasional album released that's worthy of a purchase and fashion you say....well just look around you, nuff said.
2010 was a good year and even though we still have one week left until it all comes to a close, I'm already plotting out the future and keeping those creative people around to build a strong foundation to make some fresh shit happen! Guess it's time to rally up the troops and take things over like in Conquest of The Planet of Apes!

Star Wars Reimagined
For some strange reason I've been heavy on my Star Wars page lately, either rewatching the original trilogy, having original posters framed, playing with my vintage figures under the Xmas tree (see post below) or could it be that Family Guy just released the Star Wars Trilogy Boxset. So I guess it's only fitting that I stumbled across British illustrator Olly Moss' (who I've recently started following in getting into his work) reimagining of the original Star Wars posters. Each are limited edition, numbered and on sale now. He's done a few other posters of movies which all have great imagery and work but still true to the original.

A Hot Peas and Butta Xmas!
If you've ever been to a Hot Peas and Butta party then you know just how nostalgic we are with how we do our parties. From the Funk & Soul 45's to the visuals, the designing of flyers and merchandise to the atmosphere surrounding the event makes it more than just your normal dance party. So as this holiday season is among us we take it one step further to bring you into our home and show you just what a typical Hot Peas and Butta Xmas was (and still is) like for DJ's Supreme La Rock, Amir, and myself. We are the true nostalgia kings who love not only the music but everything that represented our childhood of the 70's!
Below we present to you the Top 5 toys to receive during the Funky holiday's. Sit back, re live your youth (or see what you missed if your not of age) and enjoy.
Look what Santa dropped down the chimney!
#5 Rock'em Sock'em Robots. You had to have this, puttin heads to bed!
#4 Train sets and Racetracks was a must have for kids in the 70's.
#3 GI Joe! Just like Joe, Hot Peas and Butta is the only party with Kung Fu Grip!
#2 The Atari 2600, 1977 was a great year if you got the last 2 items on this list.
#1 Star Wars figures and playsets. 1977 was a great year for toys as well as film!

In a galaxy of expensive proportions!
Today seems like a Star Wars kind of day with the Family Guy Star Wars DVD trilogy Boxset being released tomorrow and while reading Star Wars fanatic DJ Neil Armstrong's blog (in which he recently was sent a few goodies from the Adidas Star Wars line) and now this....
The rarest of all vintage Star Wars posters has recently been discovered at auction. Its an original and only one of about 15 or less known to exist Israel Hebrew 1977 one sheet measuring 25" x 37". Currently at auction for $12,000, this would complete any collection and would you the ultimate bragging rights.

The Burger Questers....
A lot of people have been asking me what places have I had a burger at lately and to be honest with you, its been a minute since I've had one. But from time to time a few of my friends from around the globe will hit me up to let me know that they are enjoying a tasty burger. Peep the pics of my homie Amjad from Switzerland as he enjoys a nice stack.
And just today my West Coast homegirl Crissy B (thats B for Burger)was craving a tasty one herself.

Family Guy
This drops on DVD tomorrow and I'm all on it. Family Guy definitely gets a lot of viewing time from me and if you've seen the first two installments then you know this is perfect for that lazy Saturday when you need a laugh. There's actually a Trilogy Boxset of 3 movies so that's what I'm shooting for.
Warm "Hot Peas and Butta"
Pics from an extremely cold Tuesday night in New York City at Fat Buddah for Hot Peas and Butta. It was really great to see so many people brave the cold on Tuesday night none the less to enjoy funky tunes with DJ Amir, myself and special guest DJ Kamui. For the full rundown and pics be sure to check out the Hot Peas and Butta site.

When in Rome....
First day in Rome was great! Got to do a lot of traveling around this beautiful city and seeing all that it has to offer. First up on the menu was to meet up with a few people at the famous gladiator coliseum for a photo shoot. From there it was off to catch the subway which is still bombed with graff like New York in the 80's. Of course during this time there was a major strike and protest going on which I know nothing about so there was like 5000 people trying to catch the train at the same time. From there it was off the meet up for dinner. More pics as I upload.

The shirt says it all!
It's funny but this conversation has been coming up a lot of the last few years how everyone got a digital means of DJing and became a DJ, everyone has an expensive ass camera now and became a party photographer. I'm not mad at the fashion blogger though, thats just the new era of GQ of Esquire magazine. But yes, the game would be a lot less saturated if people had to buy vinyl or if people taking pictures actually had to buy rolls of film!

Pro-Keds
A few months back I posted a pic up an upcoming style of the Pro Ked 69'er, well......
At a recent event in NYC, Pro-Keds has unveiled a nice collection of kicks from their Spring / Summer and also Fall 2011 line. New styles include Flight Jacket-esque 69er’s in grey and royal with orange lining and pull cord laces, as well as a special collaboration with The Diabolical Biz Markie (who has a fine vintage sneaker collection of his own).
Definitely looking forward to these when they drop!

Serious Coffee Grind
The Greatest of All Time says it all. My hardback book collection is starting to look more like a library then just coffee table status. Another book recently released is the Greatest of All Time: A Tribute To Muhammad Ali. The book tips the scales at more than 15 pounds and is packed with essays, interviews and over a thousand photos of Ali's life and career.
Serious coffee table status!

Bout to Break out.....
This weekend I'll be heading out to Florida to rock at one of the most official jams in the world, Outbreak. Heads from all over the globe will be attending so this is definitely the place to be this weekend!
Walls From A Distant Galaxy
Always been a fan of Star Wars since I was a kid so this will be a nice coffee table piece.
Published by Sweden’s Dokument Press, Graff Wars is a compilation of graffiti inspired by Star Wars universe. Once cloistered within the realm of subculture, the world of graffiti and Star Wars fandom have become driving forces of today’s mainstream culture. Hardcover bound and printed on premium glossy paper, the 200 pages of high resolution images speak volumes of the unlikely popularity and inspirations both garnered over the decades. Graff Wars is now available at Stockholms’ Caliroot boutique and other art bookstore worldwide.

Ho Peas and Butta @ Fat Buddah NYC
Hot Peas and Butta once again rocks Fat Buddah in NYC. The usual suspects, DJ Amir and myself plus guest DJ Kamui (Japan by way of Brooklyn). Plus it's Danny Dan The Beat Man's birthday!
