Dust + Dignity Album Cover Photo Recap

For those of you who missed the Dust + Dignity exhibition that I had the pleasure of co-curating along with DJ's Rich Medina, Cosmo Baker, King Britt and DJ Junior, you definitely missed something special.  For those not familiar with Dust + Dignity, it is an album cover exhibition that hopefully will open up dialog on social injustices, and negatives going on in the states (and across the globe).  Each of the DJ's presented 20 album covers to be hung and displayed that express those issues for a month long exhibition.  Here are a few photos from the event.

Shake The Dust Philadelphia Premier Screening

Tonight I'll be attending the screening of 'Shake The Dust', a documentary executive produced by Nasir 'Nas' Jones.  The incredible film takes the viewer around the globe to Yemen, Uganda, Columbia and Cambodia exploring the interconnectedness of Hip Hop culture.  In addition to the screening, I'll be providing the soundtrack on the 1's and 2's along with David Adams before and after  with a few performances and a guest appearance by Philly / Graff legend and godfather, Cornbread.

Flow Mo 13th Anniversary, Helsinki Finland

Heading out to Helsinki Finland to celebrate once again with the Flow Mo family for their 13th Anniversary.  A weekend full of fun lies ahead!

PAAFF Recap

It was an honor to be involved with PAAFF (Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival) this past week on the panel discussion about the Asian influence within the Hip Hop community along with Author Jeff Chang, Chops (Producer / Mountain brothers) and DJ Rekha.  A lot of topics were covered and quite honestly, we could've gone on for hours with even more uncovered topics.  The follow evening I had the pleasure of DJ'ing the afterparty at Silk City and playing a vinyl only Hip Hop, Soul and dance classics set.  Looking forward to working with PAAFF more in the future.

Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival

This afternoon I have the honor of being involved with the PAAFA (Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival) panel discussion on the influence of Asian culture within the Hip Hop community.  Also on the panel will be author Jeff Chang, Chops (Producer) and DJ Rehka.

Redbull Canvas Cooler Philly

Had a chance to swing by the Redbull Canvas Cooler event in Philly the other night to check out some great pieces of art.  Some of my favorite artists from the city who all had pieces in the contest in hopes of winning and representing in Miami where present.  Shouts to Kid Hazo and JRuggs both artists that I follow heavily and always impress me with their creations.

House of Paint Festival, Ottawa Canada

Super excited to be heading to Ottawa Canada next month for the House of Paint Festival.  There's a lot of things going during that time of the 4th-7th so I'm definitely trying to take in all of the culture.  See you soon Ottawa!
