Still On That Burger Quest
With already being in Europe for the last three weeks you would've thought that I have had my fair share of burgers but surprisingly not. But last night that all changed after trying a new spot that I had never been to before here in Amsterdam called Cannibale Royale which is listed in the top burgers spots to trying here in the Dam. After reading all of the comments I have to say that it definitely lived up to its ratings and very well might now be in my top 5 burgers in the world that I've tried so far. The menu in general was on point serving up a nice selection from burgers to ribs with nice local beers on tap.

Arcade Legends
As kids without a care in the world, hanging out with friends is the easiest and most enjoyable thing to do when passing the day away. As adults there's a bit more planning that needs to go into scheduling meet ups with fellow big kids. Everyone is on the clock and have busy work schedules, weather it be the 9 to 5, the endless hours spent in the studio or crazy travel schedules. But once a month a few friends get together for boys night out to drink a few beers, talk life, drop a few case quarters in the machines and just relax. Our usual hangout is of course, Barcade. It's what each of us grew up on so it's the perfect place to reflect on the past while enjoying the present time.
As we get older and time slowly ticks away, there's nothing like kicking it with friends who you value most in your life.

Ophelia's - A Unique Denver Experience
Over the years I've DJ'd at a lot of venues of varying types. From the high end to the underground, from the worn out let it run as it is to the "we took great care in how we wanted to design our business" venues. This past Saturday while in Denver I got to spin at what definitely has to be a very unique and now one of my favorite places to not only work, but enjoy. Ophelia's is a new venue (only open 5-6 months) and located in the only section of the city that black Jazz musicians were allowed to play. The venue itself was a former brothel, peep show and porn book store and the owners kept it historically and visually correct when designing it. After 3 years of excavations and renovations Ophelia's opened and now serves as an intimate venue with a unique dining and musical experience. From what I've been told by the managers, the owner is a big collector of many of the things that I'm into and collect which is why the venue features original nude black light velvet curtains, framed sexploitation posters and vintage pinball backglass artwork used to decorate the bar top. The first thing I thought of when taking a walk around was classic NYC Time Square 42nd Street where anything goes and they definitely captured that vibe perfectly!
With a full dining experience, amazing food, great drinks, musical entertainment and one of the friendliest staffs I've ever worked with all under one roof, there's no wonder why Ophelia's is quickly making a name for itself in the city and is definitely something I've yet to see anywhere else here in the states. Definitely looking forward to making a return to soak in even more.

'Shifting Gears' a breaks and sample mix at 45rpm
By now hopefully you're already in the know about my new release dropping on July 21st via Record Breakin Music. My new mix is a 200 limited edition cassette only mix done in the stylings and pays homage to the legendary diggers and 'cratestorians' that defined the genre. DJ's like DJ Muro (King of Diggin'), Soulman, Kon & Amir, The Conmen, Paul Nice and more dug deep into the crates to deliver these timeless and now sought after gems via cassette in the 90's and early 2000's.
In keeping within the standards of those who defined the genre, this mix was done 100% analog. Recorded live from original 45s to cassette 4 track to your home, car tape deck and boombox. As a limited edition of 200, pre orders are available now and most have already been sold don't wait to order yours.
